Live Seminar on Neurological disorders associated with COVID-19: Guillain-Barré Syndrome Cases and Patients on Immunomodulators on 9th June 2020

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by SARS-CoV-2, is of a scale not seen since the 1918 influenza pandemic. Although the predominant clinical presentation is with respiratory disease, neurological manifestations are being recognised increasingly. After a successful first webinar, we will now review the first few cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) following SARS-CoV-2 infection and discuss the management of patients on immunomodulators during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr M Netravathi: Managing patients on immunomodulators during the COVID-19 period

Prof Tom Solomon is Director of the National Institute for Health Research Health Protection Research Unit in Emerging and Zoonotic Infections, Head of the Brain Infections Group, Professor of Neurological Science, and Honorary Consultant Neurologist, Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Liverpool University Hospital.

Prof Bart C. Jacobs, MD, PhD is Professor in Neurology and Immunology, Consultant in Neurology, Chair Steering Committee of International Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) Outcome Study (IGOS). He is based at the Departments of Neurology and Immunology at the Erasmus MC, University Medical Center Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Dr M Netravathi is an additional professor in Neurology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS), India. Her areas of specialist interest include central nervous system demyelinating disorders, neuro-infections, and paediatric movement disorders.
